Coming Out: Is it your time?

Yes, the world is now a safer place for those of us who are "out" in certain parts of the world, but it still can be  dangerous and challenging. It is a never ending process. Relatives, coworkers, friends, family and new people in our lives can have strong reactions to living  openly. Even though we sense that how ere live our life openly  isn’t wrong, negative thoughts can prevail. “How do I face a life that will not look typical? Will people reject me, even when I know I’m doing what is right for me”?

New research in Positive Psychology is starting to prove that the challenges of coming out might actually make us stronger psychologically. It can force us to rise above personal rejection, leading us to live more authentic lives over all. In the end we become stronger because we have learned to trust what is right for us, even as some reject us. That can be a wonderfully challenging gift that life forces some of us to learn. Join me in a dialogue about how you are facing your life challenges and gain support for what is right for you.
